Adjust rack to middle position and preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Trim and discard woody bottom ends from asparagus.

Toss on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper. Roast on middle rack until lightly browned and tender, 10-12 minutes.
